How do I connect a backup destination?

FMPHost sends your nightly backups to an off-server destination that you choose. Here is how to connect each supported option.

Dropbox

  1. In your FMPHost dashboard, go to Backup Settings
  2. Click Connect Dropbox
  3. Sign in with your Dropbox account and grant access when prompted
  4. Backups will be stored in a dedicated FMPHost Backups folder in your Dropbox

Google Drive

  1. In your FMPHost dashboard, go to Backup Settings
  2. Click Connect Google Drive
  3. Sign in with your Google account and grant access when prompted
  4. Backups will appear in a dedicated folder in your Google Drive

SFTP

  1. In your FMPHost dashboard, go to Backup Settings
  2. Select SFTP as your destination type
  3. Enter your SFTP server hostname, port, username, password, and destination path
  4. Click Test Connection to verify everything is working, then save

Nextcloud Office (FMPHost-hosted)

  1. Make sure you have an active Nextcloud Office subscription with FMPHost
  2. In Backup Settings, select Nextcloud — your account details will be pre-populated automatically
  3. Save to confirm

If you run into trouble connecting any destination, authentication issues are the most common cause and are usually quick to resolve. Open a support ticket and we'll help you get it sorted.
