How do I use Nextcloud Office as a backup destination?

Nextcloud Office is FMPHost's private-cloud platform — a self-hosted alternative to services like Dropbox and Google Drive. It makes an excellent backup destination for your FileMaker databases because everything stays within your FMPHost account rather than flowing through a third-party service.

Setting it up as a backup destination

  1. Make sure you have an active Nextcloud Office subscription with FMPHost
  2. Log in to your FMPHost dashboard and go to Backup Settings
  3. Select Nextcloud as your backup destination — your FMPHost Nextcloud account details are pre-populated automatically
  4. Save to confirm

Your nightly backups will now be delivered to your Nextcloud account where you can browse, download, or share them.

What else Nextcloud Office includes

  • Collaborative document editing compatible with Microsoft Office formats
  • File storage and sharing with granular permissions
  • Built-in video calling
  • Calendar and contacts sync

Pricing

Starting at $20/month (includes 200 GB). Additional storage is available at $0.10/GB/month.

To add Nextcloud Office to your account, open a support ticket or visit the add-ons section of your dashboard.
