My FileMaker Server is down — what should I do?

If your server is down or databases are showing as unavailable, here is a quick checklist to get things back online fast.

Step 1: Check your FMPHost dashboard

Log in to your FMPHost account. The dashboard shows your server's current status and gives you one-click restart options for common service failures.

Step 2: Try the Admin Console

Visit https://your-hostname.fmphost.com:16000/admin-console. If it loads, your server is running but individual databases may have closed unexpectedly — you can re-open them from there.

Our monitoring catches most outages automatically

FMPHost monitors your server around the clock and restarts common services without any action on your part. If you are seeing a repeated pattern of outages, please open a support ticket — we want to find and fix the root cause, not just keep restarting.
