How do I upgrade my server's disk space or memory?

Scaling your server resources up or down is self-service and takes effect immediately — no support ticket needed.

How to upgrade

  1. Log in to your FMPHost account dashboard
  2. Click Upgrade Resources next to your server
  3. Select the new disk size or memory allocation
  4. Review the prorated cost and confirm

Your server will restart briefly — typically under 2 minutes — to apply the change. Your databases and data are not affected.

Downgrades work the same way

The same button handles downgrades. Select a smaller tier, review the adjusted cost, and confirm.

Things to know

  • Disk and memory scale independently — you can add disk without changing memory, and vice versa
  • Charges are prorated — if you upgrade mid-month, you are billed only for the remainder of the billing period at the new rate
  • No data migration required — the upgrade happens in place on your existing server

Not sure what you need? Check your current usage graphs in the dashboard. If memory is consistently above 80% or disk is above 85%, it is time to consider an upgrade. If you are consistently well under your allocated resources, a smaller plan may save you money. Call us at (888) 520-8291 if you would like a recommendation.
